Psalm 123

Setting

To you, O LORD, I lift my eyes,

The words

To you, O LORD, I lift my eyes, The God enthroned above the skies. As servants watch their master’s hand Or maids before their mistress stand, So to the LORD our eyes we raise Until his mercy he displays.

O LORD our God, your mercy show; Take pity, LORD, on us below. For scorn your people all have known; Our foes’ contempt has made us groan. The proud have covered us with shame; With insolence they mock our name.

How is this list ordered?

Curated pairings come first — a tune a curator recorded against this text, with the fitness they recorded. A tune that merely shares the meter is listed as a tune in the same meter and never as a pairing.

Nothing here is ranked by popularity or use. The page reports what a curator recorded, not a verdict of its own.
